Montreal is a place where I have studied and worked. This cosmopolitan city with a wealth of diverse cultures accounts for one of the most beautiful cities in the world, listed on UNESCO as a City of Design. It is the largest city in Canadian province Quebec and  the second largest French-speaking city in the world, after Paris. It offers numerous attractions and festivals throughout the year, culinary tours into national specialties, tempting the shopping in various shopping centers, cozy boutiques, and art exhibitions in various forms. During hot summer, models that showcase latest trends on the moles will fascinate you in downtown of the city that is regarded as a mecca of fashion. You will walk along historic architectures behind which majestically tower modern skyscrapers. Unusually large greenery and flowers will surprise you in the heart of the city, where you can play golf, and even elegantly skate during hottest summer days. Thus, I will share with you the beauty of this city, and I will choose from Montreal’s best according to my taste. Continue reading

I have always wished to learn golf. I just did not know where and how I start. In one summer, while studying in Montreal, I accidentally saw a notice of golf courses, and after some hesitation, I signed up for it. It was a one-day course for beginners, held in the beautiful surroundings of Quebec nature that attracted me to gain experience in this game.

The course took place in Club de Golf St-Jérôme, distant only 30 minutes driving from Montreal, the highway 45 west, which is close to the Laurentian Mountains, one of the oldest mountain ranges in the world. Approximately 15 participants of different nationalities enrolled in the course; few French Canadian-born students and arrivals from Latin America, North Africa, Russia and Poland. We came to the Club on Saturday about 10 o’clock morning. In the Club, a French-Canadian coach welcomed us, dressed in the golf style with a light sporty hat. In the course, we were mostly beginners. Only few participants have completed a similar course before.
