I have always wished to learn golf. I just did not know where and how I start. In one summer, while studying in Montreal, I accidentally saw a notice of golf courses, and after some hesitation, I signed up for it. It was a one-day course for beginners, held in the beautiful surroundings of Quebec nature that attracted me to gain experience in this game.

The course took place in Club de Golf St-Jérôme, distant only 30 minutes driving from Montreal, the highway 45 west, which is close to the Laurentian Mountains, one of the oldest mountain ranges in the world. Approximately 15 participants of different nationalities enrolled in the course; few French Canadian-born students and arrivals from Latin America, North Africa, Russia and Poland. We came to the Club on Saturday about 10 o’clock morning. In the Club, a French-Canadian coach welcomed us, dressed in the golf style with a light sporty hat. In the course, we were mostly beginners. Only few participants have completed a similar course before.
